Microsoft Outlook Account Setup

Please note: The images below are not part of your e-mail program, and are just examples of what you should see when you are creating or changing your settings.

Step 1.
(adding a New Account)

In the main menu of Outlook, choose Tools -> E-mail Accounts.

Select "Add a new e-mail account" and click Next >.

Step 1.
(Changing an Existing Account)

If you're not adding a new account, but modifying an existing one, choose View or change existing e-mail accounts and click Next >.

You will see the dialog in Step 7.  Double-click on the account you want to change (or select it and click the Change button), and start from Step 3, below.

Step 2.

Choose POP3 as your Server Type.

Click Next >

Step 3.

Enter your name, e-mail address and pop.spidergraphics.com for your Incoming mail server (POP3) and (optionally) for your Outgoing mail server (SMTP). You do not need to use pop.spidergraphics.com for your SMTP server.  You can continue using your ISP's server. (i.e. smtp-server.twcny.rr.com if you are a CNY TimeWarner customer)

Your username is your ENTIRE e-mail address.

Note: Do not rely on the "Test Account Settings..." button.  It will tell you there's an error even when everything is working fine.

Step 4.

Name this account. It can be anything, like "My E-mail". This name is only used for displaying this account in your Accounts list.

Step 5.

Click the Outgoing Server tab. Make sure "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is checked and "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is chosen.

Click OK. You will be brought back to the "Internet E-mail Settings" window. Click Next > to complete this setup.

Step 6.

Click Finish. You're done setting up your new account. To make it the default e-mail account on your computer take the following step.

Step 7.

To make this new account your default e-mail account, choose Tools -> E-Mail Accounts. Then select View or change existing e-mail accounts.

Select the e-mail account you just created and click the "Set as Default" button.

Click Finish and you're done!.
