She brings knowledge of both countries, language, people, culture, and traditions to this trip.

ANA has been involved in many cross-cultural projects enabling people to learn about her native Costa Rica as well as in other countries.  She worked with Canadian Crossroads, both as a volunteer in Canada and as a facilitator for placements in Costa Rica.  In 1988 she was awarded a U.S. scholarship for professionals to complete a Masters degree in Women Studies at Mankato State Unversity.  In Costa Rica, she founded Casa Yemaya, a conference center and residence which offered opportunities for women to participate in cultural and sustainable development projects.  Her work with INA (Instituo Nacional de Aprendizaje) focused on programs to help women improve their economic and personal lives.  Currently with Agencia Yemaya, she has been providing ways for others to participate in outdoor adventure activities and experience the culture and natural beauty of Costa Rica.
