The Crafting Cottage is about to celebrate it's 5 Year Anniversary.
May 23, 2008 will be a full day - 10 AM - 5 PM of celebrations.
The Crafting Cottage will also be moving to a much bigger location after our Anniversary Party.
For five wonderful years we have done everything we can to expand and meet the needs of our Guests. When we finally ran out of options at the East Corning location, the difficult decision was made to move our original and (our 2nd floor only) of our Market Street location to be reunited under one roof. The Bead Shoppe will remain at 103 West Market Street.
After scouring the area for the best new Home for our Crafting Cottage, we made the decision to purchase the former Fran's Bridal Shop on Denison Parkway in downtown Corning, New York. It is perfectly located across the street from the Rockwell Museum and has more than abundant parking for all.
The new location will allow us the room to properly expand our rubber stamps, paper crafts and scrapbooking departments. We will be able to provide access to downstair and upstairs classrooms and workshops for all.
There is central air-conditioning!!!!!!!
Our Guests will no longer have to go in and out of buildings when shopping for goodies - we will have everything all under ONE ROOF!!!! YEAH!!!
We will have not one, not two but up to FOUR LARGE rooms in which to host Children's Birthday Parties, our Club Meetings and classes, workshops and retreats!!!! We are very excited about this.
Guests staying at the Radisson in downtown Corning can now simply walk to our store. Guests from out of town will be able to take advantage of mass transit to get to us now. "Significant Others" will be able to stroll up and down Market Street, take in a movie or enjoy watching sports while downing a beer at the many fine "Pubs" in town!

Scrapbooking for Beginners

Are you looking to get started in scrapbooking but you don’t know where to start? Are you overwhelmed with all the products that you see on the shelves? For those of you who have been watching from the sidelines and are now ready to see if scrapbooking is for you - then this is the class you need.
You can expect to learn how to organize your photos, choose papers and embellishments, and design a layout that will help you to tell your story, complete with journaling.
This class is being offered on a one to one basis. Rather than us scheduling a time that is convenient for us, we want to schedule what is convenient for you. Please let us know if you are interested so we can set up a time.
This class is specific to your needs so there are no supplies included with this class. You should bring with you to the class: photos (many from a single event), adhesive, cardstock/patterned papers, paper trimmer or scissors and a straight edge, and any other supplies you would like to use or would like to know how to use.

1 hour of instruction and 1 hour of “playtime” in our classroom (1/2 hour of instruction time added for each additional student – Bring a friend!)
